The nursery class run a “Family Cooking” session which takes place on a Thursday morning, 9-10.30am, and runs in blocks of 5 weeks. Parents are invited to sign up to cook with their children, the main aim of which is to learn easy, affordable, quick, tasty, recipes that can be replicated at home. Additionally, families take home whatever is cooked during each session providing each a nutritious dinner for 4-6 people each week! The meals are made following simple recipe cards which families get to keep and these then form a “cookbook” to use at home.
The “Family Cooking” sessions have proved to be a great success, cemented by the nursery winning the early years section of the “Jamie Oliver Good School Food Awards” in June 2023.
